Four questions before you search
- Where and how will the boat be used? Day trips, weekly cruising, charter or long passages each call for a different type, size and equipment.
- How many people, how many nights? Cabins and heads set water and energy needs.
- What is the total budget? Beyond the price, allow for first-year maintenance and renewal, berthing and insurance.
- Which material and age? GRP, wood, steel or aluminium each carry different upkeep and survey points.
