What we look at closely here
Heavy charter use leaves particular marks: frequent anchoring, quay berthing and many guests. Windlass and chain, the bow, bilge pumps, heads and leak marks in the interior come to the fore.
Common requests
The most common request in Göcek is a pre-purchase survey of a boat leaving a charter fleet. Fleet maintenance records are usually orderly, but they do not show how many guests the boat carried or how often it berthed. So impact marks at the bow, the fender line, the windlass motor's current draw, propeller and shaft condition and water marks inside are checked one by one. On catamarans, the underside of the bridgedeck and the saildrive diaphragms in both hulls are checked too.

Dalaman Airport is very close to Göcek. Heavy yacht traffic gives Göcek a strong service base; parts mostly arrive fast from Fethiye and İstanbul. Göcek and Fethiye marinas are used for hardstanding and wintering.

On boats with a charter past, the parts that take the anchoring and berthing loads: windlass, chain and the bow area. Bilge pumps, heads and water marks in the interior are also examined in detail.
