Yacht Survey & Delivery
Bursa, Turkey
Buying a boat in Bursa? We plan the haul-out, drying time and sea trial in one schedule and deliver an English report in 2-3 working days. Areas: Gemlik, Mudanya, Kurşunlu, Trilye.
The survey follows the same steps here: appointment, haul-out, moisture and sounding readings, a sea trial if needed, then a 70+ page photo report. Details: How the survey process works →
Surveying in Bursa: marina, haul-out and local points
Boats around Bursa mostly lie at Gemlik and Mudanya. For larger boats the haul-out is usually planned at Setur Yalova Marina; for smaller boats local slipways are considered together before the appointment.
Haul-out
| Facility | Haul-out | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Gemlik and Mudanya harbours | Mainly berthing | Survey starts afloat; haul-out site chosen together |
| Setur Yalova Marina | 100-tonne travel lift | Nearest large haul-out facility in the area |
Capacities as of September 2026. The boat's weight, beam and draught are sent to the facility in writing before the appointment. All marinas are in the marina and boatyard directory.
What we look at closely here
Commercial traffic. Gemlik Bay has busy port and shipping traffic. We check berthed boats for wash strain and underwater fouling.
Planning
For moisture readings the boat must be ashore and drying for at least one week; we book the haul-out with the facility. The travel charge is €110, shown as a separate line in the quote; the survey calculator gives an estimate.

Harbours that take yachts
| Harbour | Depth | Berthing and facilities | For yachts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trilye | 4.5-5 m (2 m at part of the quay) | Sheltered harbour; apart from a few private lazy lines, boats anchor and go stern-to or alongside. Water and electricity available, fuel by tanker; run by Mudanya Municipality. | Up to about 4 m draught at the deep quay; 1.5 m at the shallow section. |
| Yiğitler harbour (Avşa Adası) | inside breakwater 5-6 m, landward quay 4 m | The best-sheltered harbour in the area; 35 boats, sandy bottom. Anchor and go stern-to or alongside. Water and electricity; in an emergency boats up to 10 m can be hauled on a slipway. | Draught up to about 3.5 m. |
| Saraylar harbour (Marmara Adası) | 4-8 m | The only sheltered harbour on the island's north side; about 30 boats. Alongside or stern-to on anchor. Water and electricity. | Draught up to about 3.5 m. |
| Marmara Island harbour (Marmara Adası) | Run by the fisheries cooperative; water and electricity. In an emergency boats up to 23 m can be hauled on a slipway; engine, electrical and wood craftsmen available. | Depth not published, ask ahead. | |
| Asmalı harbour (Marmara Adası) | 3-4 m | Alongside or stern-to at the quay. Strong gusts come down in hard northerlies, so lay out plenty of anchor rode. | Draught up to about 2.5 m. |
Only harbours that take yachts are listed; places suited only to small boats are left out. The draught limit allows about half a metre under the keel at the shallowest berth; a length limit is given where the source states one. Space varies by season, so call the harbour operator before arriving, especially in summer. The afloat parts of a survey can be done in these harbours; the underwater hull needs a separate haul-out.
Getting to know the Bursa coast
Boats in the area
On the Bursa coast boats gather around Mudanya, Gemlik, Kurşunlu and Trilye. Most owners live in Bursa and use the boat at weekends or in summer, so leisure motor boats and mid-size sailing yachts stand out. On boats used little but regularly, engine hours may look low, but we still check the records to see whether service intervals were skipped.
Conditions in the bay
Gemlik Bay has heavy port and industrial traffic. Berthed boats show wash strain, and mussel and shell fouling is common below the waterline. Seawater intakes, strainers, the cooling circuit and anodes are inspected separately. Since Marmara water is less salty than the Aegean, anode type and wastage are noted too.
Haul-out practice
Facilities able to lift a larger boat are limited on the Bursa coast. Smaller boats can use local slipways, in which case the cradle, blocks and supports are checked before the survey. Larger boats are usually hauled at Yalova. Once the site is chosen, at least one week of drying time is added to the schedule for moisture readings.
Common routes
From here boats mostly go to the Marmara islands, İstanbul and Yalova. Boats moving to the Aegean pass through the Dardanelles. A boat used for short trips needs its fuel tank, filters and cooling system prepared before a long delivery.
Practical notes for buyers
On the Bursa coast owners often use the same mechanic for years. In that case we ask for the mechanic's notes and invoices before the survey and compare engine hours and replaced parts against them. Without documents, the maintenance history is rebuilt from our findings and gaps are reported with A-B-C grading.
Service, parts and logistics
Trades and service
Bursa is a large industrial city, so general workshop jobs are easy to arrange. Yacht-specific service on the coast is limited, and some trades come from Yalova or İstanbul. General jobs such as machining, welding, hydraulic hoses and upholstery can be done in the city's industrial area.
Parts, materials and accessories
Parts and chandlery usually arrive quickly by courier from İstanbul.
Travel and logistics
Bursa Yenişehir Airport and İstanbul's airports are used. General service is available around Mudanya and Gemlik; specialist yacht gear comes quickly from İstanbul. Haul-out and wintering are planned at the gulf marinas.
Repair planning
If you want a recommendation for repairing a finding, we can suggest trades; the work is invoiced directly to you, and we never sell repairs on a boat we surveyed. If a repair depends on parts, the lead time is added to the haul-out and delivery schedule.

Yes, €110. It is added to the survey fee as its own line in the written quote; the survey calculator shows it in the estimate.
Yes. For example, İstanbul (Kalamış) → Gemlik is about 48 nautical miles. The skipper makes the departure call on weather; handover and arrival are recorded with photos.
Deck, interior, systems and the sea trial can be done afloat. The underwater hull, moisture readings, shaft and rudder need a haul-out; we choose the site together based on the boat's size.
We look closely at underwater fouling, seawater intakes, anodes and wear on mooring gear, start the engine from cold and take readings at working temperature.
Yes, we work along the whole Bursa coast; travel is shown as a separate line in the quote and the haul-out site is chosen together based on the boat's size.
