Surveying in Marmaris: marinas, haul-out and local points
Marmaris is one of the south-west coast's refit and lay-up centres. Large hardstanding and big travel lift capacity bring long-distance cruisers, charter fleets and foreign-owned boats wintering ashore to the area.

What we look at closely here
The bay is sheltered, which suits both lay-up and long jobs ashore. On boats that have stood ashore for long, batteries, water in the fuel tank, seals and the movement of seacocks are checked specifically.
Common requests
In Marmaris, owners of boats wintering ashore want to know at the start of the season whether the boat is ready to launch. Months ashore let the hull dry, which makes the area well suited to moisture readings. Antifouling, anode renewal and, if needed, refit work can be planned at the same haul-out. Foreign buyers coming to the area to purchase often want the survey and delivery together; the route from Marmaris to the new home port is added to the survey plan.

Only harbours that take yachts are listed; places suited only to small boats are left out. The draught limit allows about half a metre under the keel at the shallowest berth; a length limit is given where the source states one. Space varies by season, so call the harbour operator before arriving, especially in summer. The afloat parts of a survey can be done in these harbours; the underwater hull needs a separate haul-out.

With its large hardstanding, Marmaris Yacht Marina is one of the region's big technical service centres; together with Netsel and nearby facilities it covers engine, paint, stainless, sail and electrical work. General jobs such as machining, welding, hydraulic hoses and upholstery can be done in the city's industrial area.
Parts, materials and accessories
Chandleries and service dealers are common; specialist parts come from İstanbul or abroad.
Travel and logistics
Dalaman Airport is used. With large hardstanding capacity and a strong service network, Marmaris is one of the region’s maintenance hubs; parts are usually found on site or fast from İstanbul.
