Delivery Routes
Distance & Time Table

Eighteen routes with sea-mile distances, motor and sail passage times, shelter options and the seasonal notes that decide when a passage should be made.‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌

The table below lists the 18 most requested delivery routes on the Turkish coast with sea-mile distances and estimated passage times. Distances come from the same sea-route network used by our calculator (coastal routing, no shortcuts over land). Times assume eight hours under way per day: motor yachts at about 18 knots, sailing yachts and catamarans at about 7.

Not included in the fee: standard practice is that fuel and provisions sit outside the service fee and are on the owner's account at actual cost. Port, canal and agency charges, and crew day rates during weather waiting, are separate items too. Every one of them is listed separately in the quotation, so you can compare it with other quotations on the same basis.

Distances are computed along a sea corridor that follows the coast and the straits, not a straight line. Times assume 8 knots under power, 5 knots under sail, nine hours of passage a day. Weather waiting is not included.

How the distances were derived. Not straight lines: shortest path over a sea-corridor network that follows the coast and the straits. Routes marked "charted" are distances established in navigation practice; "computed" routes come from the same network and typically fall within ±10%. The exact figure changes with weather, draft and the passages chosen.

The duration column assumes 7 knots average and 10 hours underway per day. Sailing to windward takes longer; a fast motor yacht is quicker. Night passages cut the day count but raise crew and cost.‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌

From the field

In route planning, distance is the least decisive factor. What decides is the spacing of shelter: how much of an hour's run in that weather does the gap between two harbours consume?

If that sum does not work, you wait, even on a short passage. What delays a delivery is usually not the gale itself but how far away the place to sit it out happens to be.‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌

Frequently Asked Questions

They are sea miles along the usual coastal track, not straight-line distances. Weather, shelter needs or traffic can add a little to the actual passage.
Eight hours under way per day, with motor yachts at about 18 knots and sailing yachts or catamarans at about 7. Night-capable yachts finish sooner; weather waits and clearance extend the total.
Bodrum-Gocek is the busiest domestic route.
About 360 nautical miles: roughly two to three days by motor yacht and six to seven under sail. The Dardanelles transit hour is chosen around current and commercial traffic, which shapes the plan.
Yes, but the weather windows are short. Between November and March the price carries a 20% factor and we ask for a wider date range rather than a single day. The possibility of waiting is stated in the quote.
