How it works: pick from the lists below, the only things you type are your name and contact. Your selections become a ready WhatsApp message; nothing is stored on this page.
Before You Book
- Moisture readings are only meaningful this way; a hull just out of the water reads misleadingly high.
- Marina, lift and hardstanding charges belong to the owner or buyer and are paid directly to the marina; they are not part of the survey fee and carry no mark-up.
- Access must be arranged with the seller or their representative; lockers, bilges and compartments emptied.
- For the sea trial you need sufficient fuel, a working engine and the necessary permission.
- Documents: registration and tonnage certificate, insurance policy, engine service records and any previous survey report.
What Happens Next
- Once your request arrives, scope and fee are agreed in writing.
- The marina and lift slot are coordinated (charges yours, paid directly).
- The vessel completes its drying period ashore.
- Measurement day: ashore in the morning, sea trial in the afternoon.
- The report is delivered in 2-3 working days and read through with you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Usually a week off-season and two to three weeks in summer. The lift slot and the vessel's drying time set the timetable.
For reliable moisture readings the vessel must stand ashore and dry for at least a week. Readings taken afloat or straight after a haul-out are misleadingly high, and the report records that limitation.
They belong to the owner or buyer and are paid directly to the marina. They are not part of the survey fee and carry no mark-up; we coordinate the booking.

Before work starts, in writing. Scope (ashore / afloat / full) and fee appear on the same document; nothing is added later.
The inspection ashore goes ahead in rain; only visual examination and moisture readings are deferred while the hull surface is wet. A sea trial is not run if wind and sea are unsafe, that part moves to another day and the report says so.
It does. Readings taken on a wet surface come out high and do not reflect the laminate's real condition. Moisture is therefore read with the hull surface dry, after the boat has stood ashore and dry for at least a week. The conditions are recorded in the report.
Moisture meter readings shift with temperature, so ambient temperature is recorded during the survey and compared against a dry reference area. What is read is the difference between areas, not a single absolute figure.
Yes, and winter has advantages: boats are ashore, access is easy and crane slots are flexible. The one thing to plan for is a dry hull before moisture readings, in a wet spell, time under cover is scheduled.
A postponement carries no extra charge. What can be completed is completed; what cannot, usually the sea trial, moves to a new date, and the report follows once that part is done.
