Cost

What sets the delivery price?

Service fee and owner's costs, shown apart.‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍

A delivery price is two separate sums: the captain and crew's service fee, and the passage costs that belong to the owner. Seeing them apart is the only fair way to compare quotes.

What makes up the service fee

Distance and speed
The route is measured in nautical miles and turned into days at 8 hours under way a day: 7 knots average for sailing yachts and catamarans, 18 knots for motor yachts.
Crew
On a one-day job at 40 ft or under, the captain can sail alone. Above 40 ft or on multi-day passages deck crew is added; above 55 ft the crew is three.
Day rates
Captain €160, €190 or €220 a day by length; deck crew €120 or €150.
Season
From November to March crew rates are 20% higher.
Crew travel
Crew travel to and from the boat; not part of the service fee, charged separately at cost (usually €80-180 depending on distance).
Paperwork
For a foreign-flagged boat, transit log handling if required: €200.

Costs paid by the owner

Fuel, crew provisions (bought to a boat-galley shopping list, about 600-750 TRY per person per day), marina and port fees are paid by the owner against receipts. Fuel use varies widely with the engine, load and rpm; the quote shows an estimate on a separate line.

Worked example

A 45 ft sailing yacht, a route of about 250 NM, April-October: 250 ÷ (7 × 8) ≈ 4.5 days, so 5 crew days. Captain and deck crew at €310 a day × 5 = a service fee of €1,550 + VAT; crew travel (about €120) is charged separately. Provisions for a crew of two over 5 days, with one spare day, come to about 7,500 TRY; provisions, fuel and port fees are the owner's.‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍
